As an independent jewelry appraiser with 15 years experience in the industry, Shannon not only serves as appraiser for potential auction items, but has a long history of submitting professional appraisals for insurance and estate purposes. In addition to being a gemologist certified by Gemological Institute Of America, Shannon also designs and repairs fine jewelry.
Patsy graduated Skidmore College with honors in 2014 with a major in art history and a minor in studio art. Following an internship at the Tucson Museum of Art, in 2016 she completed her master’s degree in Fine and Decorative Art at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. She joined the Smith’s team in 2017 and is currently pursuing her American Society of Appraisers accreditation.
Bill grew up learning the antique business at his father Bill Sr.’s side. In 2001, he took the helm of the business and ushered it into the next century. He expanded the facility, updated operations, modernized systems and grew Smith’s into a regional and nationally acclaimed Auction House. Bill’s passion for antiques is evident to all who know him. He looks forward to hunting for treasures every day. He is proud to carry on the family business that was started by his parents Bill and Merilyn in 1968.
